Cancelling the 8-into-1 and moving on...

Really, anything that's a true merge collector will be a slip-fit collector, and it really should be open collector-back to limit backpressure and prevent leaks at the collector. A turbo is not open. So...this collector is unsuitable for this project and will be shelved for another. Stay tuned for an entire exhaust revamp as well. It's all gonna go. Glad I hadn't welded any of it yet. Hah.
